(Free-Press-Release.com) November 17, 2005 -- New York (November 16, 2005)…..Songs by ASCAP Award-winning songwriter and vocalist, Larry “J. Phoenix” Loftin, can now be found in the newly-launched Universal Music Production Library (UMPL), a division of Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), launched on November 15, 2005.

According to Universal Music Publishing Group, “Universal's Music Production Library will encompass high quality production music by some of the hottest names in contemporary music responsible for some of the biggest releases today. The Universal Music Production Library will be unique in that it will be the first library to cull many of its tracks from Universal Music Publishing Group's top roster of contemporary talent as well as top names in the Film/TV and Trailer world. UMPL Composers have worked with an impressive and diverse roster of popular artists, from 50 Cent, G-Unit and KISS, to John Lee Hooker, Bob Dylan, and many more.”
J. Phoenix, who wrote and performed the hook for Tupak Shakur’s “Thugz Mansion” (Nas Acoustic) and whose songs have been recorded by high-profile artists such as platinum-selling R&B vocalist Joe, legendary jazz vocalist Nancy Wilson, renowned band Earth Wind & Fire, and guitar sensation George Benson, has five songs in the catalog—“Dance”, “Pain”, “5th of May”, Help Us All” and “Jonesin”—all collaborations with producer, musician and writer Gary “Headman” Haase covering pop, inspirational and R&B genres.

“I’m excited to have been chosen to be in the company of other award-winning writers,” says J. Phoenix. That company includes Paul Brown, who produced J. Phoenix’s “Still Waters” for George Benson’s Standing Together album.

No stranger to the music publishing and licensing limelight, J. Phoenix, who writes under his given name Larry Loftin, has won the ASCAP/Sammy Cahn Award for excellence in lyrics and had his songs licensed for the films From Justin to Kelly, The Brothers, I Don’t Want to be a Player, and B.A.P.S., as well as numerous television shows including E! On Saturday, November 19, 2005, J. Phoenix will share his experiences and extensive knowledge of the music industry during A Queen Production’s, 6-hour Songwriters Series.
