Are you old enough to remember, or have you ever seen re-runs of a show called “The Millionaire”? It was an old black and white series from the 60’s about an anonymous millionaire who sent two lawyers or suits of some sort out to give a million dollars to someone who desperately needed it, or who deserved it.
That’s what I’m going to do.
I don’t want to copy the great idea Chris had, and honestly . . . I don’t really care about a million dollars. Money is great to have. A billion dollars would be great for me. But - the most important realization that I’ve EVER had is that the ONLY THING THAT MATTERS in this whole human life is a persons heart.
So what am I going to do? I’M GOING TO GIVE AWAY A MILLION DOLLARS IN A YEAR. Or I’m going to try awfully hard to, anyhow.
How am I going to do this?
Starting Feb. 2006 I’m going to put everything in to storage again (I’ve done this before, for those who don’t know me). I will carry a laptop, a digital camera, 1 or 2 changes of clothes, and maybe an mp3 player. THAT’S IT!
I’m going to personally fund my own movement and survival from my own earnings and savings from various other projects I have and work that I’ve done. I can keep myself alive, and on 3rd class railways, rickshaws, and what not. But I definately don’t have a million dollars to help the people I’ll need to help.
And I’ll travel all over the world - ON FOOT AND ALONE - into the most dangerous, most poor, most marginalized and God-forsaken areas I can find, and help every good person I meet. I’m not going to be a missionary. I’m not even religious myself. I’m not going to ask anything in return. I’M JUST GOING TO HELP AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN, UNCONDITIONIALLY.
AND I’M GOING TO DOCUMENT EVER MINUTE OF IT HERE!
You’re probably wondering “why” at this point.
The answer is simple. Because I can. Because it’s there. Because I can endure hunger, cold, warzones, and whatever else may come if I can be some small vehicle to change the way people look at life.
Where will the money come from? I don’t know. Initially, I’ll sell advertising space from people who want a link or banner on this site, and support what I’m doing. Once February-March-April roll around, and everyone sees that I’m 100% legit, and I start losing some SERIOUS weight, maybe my visitors will want to make a donation via paypal to help me with this.
