Democracy as we know it is in serious jeopardy!

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 22, 2005 -- At the premier meetup of Hoboken Progressives (previously Hoboken Democracy for America), we will focus on Bush's reverse Robin Hood budget proposals that already passed in The House by a pathetic 2 vote margin. Now we must press the Senate Republicans to do the right thing. $70 billion in tax breaks (Capital Gains and Dividend Interest) that benefit the wealthiest 2% of America. $50 billion taken away from Healthcare, Food Stamps, and Student Loans that seriously harm the poor and middle class. This picture is seriously wrong!

My own daughter could never have gone for her Masters Degree without the aid of Student Loans - now she is giving back by teaching Autistic and otherwise learning disabled children. How many sons and daughters with plans to give back to their communities will never get that chance?

We also want to stand up for Congressman Murtha, one mighty brave man - not afraid to call the war in Iraq as it is. And shame on Senator Kerry for saying "I respectfully disagree with Mr. Murtha." That wishy washy attitude is what lost him the election. Nationwide, people are changing their tunes about the war as have many politicians. We want our troops home!

At subsequent meetings we will call for the firing of Rove and Rumsfeld. We call for Open and Honest government = by the people and for the people = not despite the people.

Other PACs in Hudson County, NJ with which we will work closely are ACT4Change and the Hudson County DFA. Together we intend to make a difference and bring back Democracy to America.
If it takes a march - we'll march! If it takes letters - we'll write them! If it takes phone calls - we'll be Dialing for Democracy!
