November 28, 2005 (Press Release) --
The Marisla Seamount, colloquially known as El Bajo, is surrounded by the most fabulous pelagics a diver could ever hope to encounter and in such quantities that they completely overwhelm the senses.
The three seamounts composing El Bajo on any given day are filled with manta rays, nudibrachs, colonies of eels. Schools of fish swim around like recess was just released and when the conditions are right, scalloped hammerhead sharks circle in the hundreds above divers!
Besides the diving, which is simply magical, the very location of the seamount in a richly deserted section of the Sea of Cortez leaves a diver with the sneaking suspicion that he is the first person in a millennium to descend below the noticeable thermocline and experience this aquious El Dorado.
Only a handful of saguaro cacti, circling birds, and the occassional coyote give this classic Baja xenosphere the semblance of life; nothing hints at what lies below!
If you're ready to experience the power of the seamount--and the insatiable culture surrounding it--visit TheSeamount.com! Not only will you become immersed in arguably the best scuba diving location in existance, but you'll also gain exposure to a wholly different style of living espoused in the Baja that stresses humanity over materialism.
