(Redford, MI) – If a person can auction their body parts for advertising space, why not auction their mortgage payments too?
James Wilson had that very thought when he auctioned the rights to sponsor his house payments through his web site, www.sponsormymortgage.com.
Sound crazy?
At least one corporation doesn’t think so, having already won the auction.
Wilson says, "I was driving one day and I told my wife, I don't think anyone's tried to auction their house payment on eBay yet. So I put it up for auction and found a sponsor within 24 hours of it being listed."
Some watchers of the auction emailed their own messages. "I wish I would have thought of this first," one writer said."
"This isn't a handout," said James, 32. "I could continue to make my house payments like I’ve always done, but I wanted to try something new and innovative. I’ll be able to work for (the) sponsor while working my regular job," he said.
James said his wife thinks the idea is innovative.
"But also this will save my family lots of money," said Wilson, "so who wouldn't be happy?"
