December 6, 2005 (Press Release) --
Seattle, Washington – Aeroceanetwork, one of the world’s largest independent freight forwarding networks, is taking aim at Seattle for the future growth of their group. “Seattle and the surrounding area are crucial to our growth if we are to seriously expand our network in the United States,” says Gary Dale Cearley, Aeroceanetwork’s executive director, “as Seattle is closer to Asia and than any other major American gateway.”
The Port of Seattle which serves the entire Pacific Northwest and as a transshipment point for Alaska, is one of the largest, most efficient container and breakbulk cargo centers on the US West Coast. Still, according to Port of Seattle figures, around 70 percent of the port’s containerized ocean cargo originates in or is destined for regions of the United States outside the Pacific Northwest, making Seattle a trade gateway of regional, national and international significance. As well, Sea-Tac International Airpor ranks among the top 20 air cargo airports in America that last year had 347,000 metric tons of both international and domestic air cargo.
Cearley believes that finding a suitable partner in Seattle to work with the Aeroceanetwork members around the world will be important to his group, but would be a boon to the Seattle area forwarder eventually chosen. “I have seen that independent professional logistics companies benefit in many ways from our global reach,” says Gary Dale, “We focus on our forwaders having more time and opportunities to develop international business with each other, cutting out the red tape that normally comes with freight associations. Aeroceanetwork is only existing to develop international cargo business. Period.”
When asked what sort of company in Seattle would be interested in Aeroceanetwork, Cearley was clear. “Independents. The people who are very good in freight forwarding here in Seattle, but not part of a large multi-national forwarding group and need partners on the other side of the world to be able to grow their business locally and people who would benefit by the overseas agents working with them to promote Seattle logistics services internationally.”
Aeroceanetwork is a leading non-exclusive network for professional logistics companies and international freight forwarders. Aeroceanetwork is represented in nearly seventy countries on every continent.
