December 7, 2005 (Press Release) --
Christmas was not founded by the “almighty buck” it was founded on the principle of the “almighty father” and the birth of Jesus Christ being born yet for some reason it has become commercialized to the point of removing the true meaning of this special holiday. American Christians must take a stand before it is too late. STOP spending your hard-earned “In God We Trust” money in these stores.
I was told the reason they do not greet their customers with Merry Christmas is that they do not want to offend anyone. Well as Christians we should be offended and we should let them know. Stop spending your money with them. There are many wonderful stores that still are managed by individuals and groups that still see the value and true meaning of this holiday and they are the ones we should be patronizing.
A friend recently told me that she was calling a “Christian” mail order company for some books. When she called the women said “Happy Holidays” she asked why she was not greeted with “Merry Christmas”. The response was that they use a generic greeting not to offend anyone. Well this woman said she was offended and wanted to talk to a supervisor. What the woman found out was the first person she spoke to was with an answering service and their policies did not reflect those of their mail order company. In short, that comment by this one woman fixed the problem. We need to stand up for what is right.
Non-Christians for years have had their say. If they did not, like something, they spoke up and the Christians of the world backed off. We need to take a stand just as Christ has done for us. Soon it will be too late. I hate the thought that one non-Christian has more power than hundreds of Christians. We do not have prayer in school because of one person. Christians are we willing to sit back and let the same thing happen to one of the most celebrated holidays in the Christian heritage.
I am not!
Stand up for Christ,
Sheila Rae

Christians need to take back the true meaning of Christmas and quite being worried about offending the non-Christians. This is one of the most important events in Christian heritage.
