The American Society for Quality (ASQ) Automotive Division awarded the Quality Professional of the Year Award to Chad Kymal, CEO of Omnex, Inc. on June 14, 2005 at the Henry Ford Estate, Dearborn, Michigan.
The Quality professional of the year award has been established to recognize individuals in the automotive industry who have made a significant contribution in the following areas:
1) Leadership or managerial skills in implementing continuous improvement in quality.
2) Services provided to the community towards furthering the understanding of quality systems and techniques.
3) Support and encouragement of the new and innovative ideas leading to never ending pursuit of excellence.
4) Demonstrated high regard for team benefits and results.
About the Award Winner
Chad Kymal is an international trainer and consultant whose broad experience includes TQM, setup reduction, technology assessment and inventory analysis, statistical process control, and quality function deployment. He has served on the Malcolm Baldrige Board of Examiners and is a RABQSA-certified lead auditor. He has a bachelor’s degree mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute, a master’s degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Kymal founded Omnex Inc., a business management solution provider to semiconductor, high technology, automotive, manufacturing, and service industries. He led the Omnex team that helped Ford Motor Co. rewrite the QOS methodology.
