Los Angeles, CA, December 13, 2005 — The Arts District Citizen, a new monthly, releases its premier issue on December 21, 2005. To celebrate the launch of this new monthly publication, The Arts District Citizen is hosting a fund raising party for the paper on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 from 7:00pm - 1:00am at Soul Folks Gallery located at 613 Imperial Street, Los Angeles, CA 90021, in the Arts District. We hereby invite you to join us in celebrating the launch of The Arts District Citizen.
The Arts District Citizen is a free monthly 12-page tabloid-format publication that will serve the downtown Los Angles Arts District by providing information that meets the needs of the Arts District community, by acting as a venue to showcase local artists and writers, and by educating, supporting and empowering the District’s artists and residents and our community.
The Arts District Citizen is being published by award wining photographer and writer, Linda Ford. Ms. For, is also the Citizen’s editor is joined by George Stiehl, Op/Ed and co-Managing Editor who is an award winning filmmaker and artist. Bob West, Art Director and Co-managing Editor, a renowned graphic artist and web designer. Serving as Features Editor is Liza Simone, photographer and filmmaker and curator of Phantom Galleries of LA. Editorial and Advertising photographer, Larry Letters in the Photo Editor and rounding out the team is actor, director and playwright, Paul Mackley. Mr. Mackley is responsible for advertising and acts as the paper’s “spiritual advisor.” The Arts District Citizen’s contributors are made up from the artists, writers and residents of the Arts District.
The Arts District Citizen will attract creative, educated and cultured readers, who appreciate the diversity and creative environment in which they live. The readers are creative, independent and innovative thinkers; they are the movers and shakers of the Los Angeles art world. The Arts District Citizen’s monthly distribution is 4,000 with a projected readership of 6,000 and is distributed throughout the Arts District and in adjacent establishments
