The insulin market in the US continues to grow speedily. This is because of a high demand for insulin by about 6% of the residents who suffer from diabetes.

December 20, 2005 (Press Release) -- The insulin market in the US continues to grow speedily. This is because of a high demand for insulin by about 6% of the residents who suffer from diabetes. Unfortunately the disease creeps into the human system, which has become one of the prime causes of death in America. People there therefore, refer to diabetes as the `silent killer'. Even sorrowful is the state of affairs where one-third part of the 16 million people, who actually suffer from diabetes, is not aware of this matter.



As per a recent market research report, "Insulin Delivery System - The State of the Science and Market Opportunities" published by RNCOS, researchers believe that in US, of the total sales of diabetes and therapeutic drugs figuring about $8 billion in 2004 came from insulin sales. Being the most important one among diabetes control drugs, insulin sale is worth $300 billion and is continuously growing at a rate of 14% in the world market. Moreover, the world's Diabetes and Therapeutics and Diagnostics market is expected to grow to an amount of $32 billion by 2008.



In US, direct medical expenses account mainly from diabetes cost around $90 million annually. An additional $40 million go for indirect medical expenses.
