December 29, 2005 (Press Release) --
Chinese New Year ribbon will help Chinatown
If you've started to miss wearing your Aloha Week ribbon, there's a solution just waiting for you to pin it on.
Several Chinese community organizations have joined to kick off the Chinese New Year's celebration ribbon.
For a $5 donation, you get discounts at Chinese restaurants and help revitalize Chinatown.
"We're going to earmark part of our money to help in rebuilding the headquarters of the united Chinese society and possibly to donate funds to the hurricane relief fund," says Alvin Wong, Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
Celebrations for the Year of the Dog will be held on the last two weekends of January in Chinatown.
