Student Loans New Site launched

New York, NY - 06/01/2006 - Big lenders see Students as future

As more and more Americans are facing an ever increasing debt mountain. Lenders are cutting rates to the bone to entice students away from federal and subsidized loans.
Lenders perceive the youth of today as being the borrowers of tomorrow. In fact they are so keen they are willing to offer student loans which return razor thin margins. Savvy students can choose from a ever increasing array of loans and can do very well just as long as they don't succumb to the lure of further borrowing down the line.

Resources include:

- How to stretch your student loan
- Choosing a student loan
- 10 pointers on College loan consolidation
- Parent Loans or Student Loans - what is going to be best for my child?

This months Top Tip:
January is the month to complete the free application for Federal Student aid (FAFSA). This is used to determine eligibility for all types of Federal financial assistance. Now is the time for new applicants to ask their Financial Aid Administrator if your school is a "Direct Lending" school. Schools that participate in the William D. Ford Direct Loan program (FDSLP) insist their students and/or parents borrow their Federal Stafford directly through the Federal government.
How much can an appliacnt get?
The maximum a dependent student can receive is related to the year in school. First year students receive up to $2,625, 2nd year is $3,500, 3rd and 4th years are $5,500 and graduate students can receive up to $8,500.

These resources are free and can be found at http://student-loan.actionet.net . Parents and students are encouraged to share their knowledge and experience with others.
