January 6, 2006 (Press Release) --
For the latest week, the rise in Non-Manufacturing ISM and drop in Initial Jobless Claims added an unweighted value of 4 to the Index. The rise in the Agricultural Prices subtracted an unweighted value of 1 from the Index.
During the week, Manufacturing ISM, Factory Orders and the Unemployment Rate remained on-trend and did not affect the BullandBearWise Index.
For the week, the cumulative unweighted change was plus 3, resulting in the Index rising to 52.24.
The indicators used in the BullandBearWise Index are weighted based on the table available at http://www.bullandbearwise.com/calculation.asp. All bullish indicators are then summed and divided into the sum of all the indicators. When an indicator changes from bearish to bullish, the Index increases 1.5 times the Weighting. For example, if Consumer Credit (Weighting = 1) turns from bearish to bullish, the BullandBearWise Index would increase by 1.5.
