MUSICIANS SPEAK OUT ON WAR


St. Louis, MO � Jupiter Jazz has declared war with On Tracy Lane. The two bands are slated to go head to head at Battlerusa on January 31st at Mississippi Nights. Jupiter Jazz a fusion of live hip-hop and spoken word poetry is clearly the underdog. On Tracy Lane, a five-piece rock band has a slight advantage since recently signing with Emerald City Entertainment Group. The winner goes on to play at Wakarusa, a national music festival which Wilco headlined last year.

Jupiter Jazz learned from On Tracy Lane�s web site that they describes their sound as �passionate hook-filled rock� and boast �50,000 on their mailing list� as well as a team of �producers, lawyers and marketing.� Jerry Hill, Jupiter Jazz�s drummer responded by saying �that�s nothing, we�ve got maps, spies, and a grown man in a chicken suit.� The man in the chicken suit is Shane Signorino, the group�s mascot. Signorino says he�ll fill Mississippi Nights with Jupiter Jazz fans, �I plan to mobilize thousands of hippies, rappers, revolutionaries, poets, pixies, French Girls and B-Boys.� Jason Braun, Jupiter Jazz�s spoken word MC admits that their plan is as unorthodox as their music �we�re watching Kung Fu flicks, breaking boards with karate kicks, and drinking egg yolks.�

Both bands are touring this spring and they may battle again. Jupiter Jazz is cutting the country in half with shows in Chicago to Atlanta. On Tracy lane�s tour will include showcase dates in Los Angles, Chicago, and New York.
