The unique brand of advertising offered by new company PixelBannerAds has grown in popularity over the last month. Sign ups have increased dramatically, and with many new publishers on board they are now showing almost 10,000 ads a day (with the figure climbing rapidly). The service is similar to traditional banner advertising, but instead of banners consisting of text links or single large images (similar to Google, AdBrite, DoubleClick and others), many "micro" ads are shown within a single banner. The visual appeal of the banners drives clickthrough rates to rise as the banners fill up. If your visitors are suffering from banner blindness, pixel banners will certainly cure them!
Publishers can sign up with the site for free, and begin showing banners immediately on as many sites as they wish. Each period (30 days), 80% of the site's revenue is shared amongst the publishers based on how many clickthroughs each publisher received. The higher the clickthroughs, the larger the share. Publishers are provided with full statistics on their banners, allowing them to refine where and when they are shown for maximum return.
Recent improvements to the service have been well received by the advertising community. New larger ad sizes have been introduced to aid brand visibility (40x40 and 60x60 pixels) with money off for larger ads being purchased, and subscription options offering further discounts. The banner serving technology behind the site has also been upgraded, with banners being generated up to 20 times faster than before. One key feature not provided by other pixel based schemes that PixelBannerAds offers is that of remote image linking - this allows advertisers to dynamically rotate the image used in the campaign, and possibly run several different ads through the same account.
"We are working on improving the relevance of ads shown within the banners, as we want our advertising customers to have the best traffic possible.
