January 16, 2006 (Press Release) --
BOSTON, MA – JANUARY 16, 2006 – Author Nick Finneran will sign copies of his book CAY SAL BANK, at the Red Stripe Reggae Summerfest in Jamaica, June 29-July 2, 2006. Specific times and locations for the CAY SAL BANK book signing event will be posted at the author’s web site (www.nickfinneran.com) during the event.
ABOUT CAY SAL BANK:
CAY SAL BANK, published in May 2005 is the sequel to Finneran’s wildly popular STANIEL CAY, published in 2004.
In CAY SAL BANK, twenty-year-old Nick and his cousin Tony Finneran are cruising in their sailboat and enjoying the lazy days in the Caribbean in the years 1949-1950. Nick opens a fishing charter business, finds a girlfriend and writes a biography of his uncle, a famous 17th century Neapolitan pirate named Captain Benozzo Di Napoli. Life is good. But alas, Nick and Tony’s Caribbean tranquility is once again disrupted by the Soviet Navy. Ten years before the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Russians are supporting the Cuban Communists, and the Finneran boys are drawn into the fray.
According to a recent review, “Nick Finneran lets the ponies run in CAY SAL BANK! CAY SAL BANK serves up a bouillabaisse of sailing and adventure. Sailboats, bars, beaches, conch salads, the Italian Pirates of the Caribbean, the pioneer days of SCUBA, Cuban gun-runners, and drunken vervet monkeys. Ever wondered what the Caribbean was like before the tourists came? Read CAY SAL BANK!”
ABOUT NICK FINNERAN:
Seventy-four-year-old Nick Finneran is a champion sailor, fly fisherman, world adventurer and confidant to three presidents. Nick spent his childhood sailing on Cape Cod. He was the quintessential teenage sailing bum, years before it became fashionable. After high school, he left the cold Massachusetts winters behind, and began a life journey of adventure that has spanned six decades.
