Session will Feature Nation’s Top Telecommunications Lawyer

The 30-minute online event will discuss a brief history of the Federal Excise Tax (FET) and recent court rulings which may exempt cellular phones, Internet phone service and about one-third of long distance calls from the 3 percent federal tax. This could mean billions due in refunds, and larger companies with sizeable international phone bills could recoup as much as $1 million or more.
The session will also cover steps for calculating FET refund amounts and filing claims, and discuss resources for recovering refund amounts. The session will feature Andrew D. Lipman, Vice Chairman of Swidler Berlin LLP, who was also recently named the nation’s Top Telecommunications Lawyer by the Legal Media Group. Also moderating the event is Glenn Miller, a partner in Swidler Berlin's Tax/ERISA Practice Group and Timothy Colwell, Vice-President of Knowledge Operations at TeleManage Training.
