January 17, 2006 (Press Release) --
Alex Tew started this internet revolution by creating a way to pay for his college (milliondollarhomepage.com). He did not want to create great debt by taking out student loans. One day I will be facing this dilemma with my daughter when she is ready for college. So I thought I would try to make some money with pixel advertisement.
The idea is to sell advertisement space by placing your picture or logo on the grid located on the homepage. Your logo will be linked to your website. The grid is divided up by blocks of 10x10 pixels which equal 100 pixels per block. There are 10,000 blocks which equals 1,000,000 pixels for the entire grid. Your logo must fit on at least on block (10x10) and can be as large as you want as long as there is space on the grid for it to fit. Once all the blocks have sold that will be it.
Most advertisement sold on the internet is for a specified time and then taken off line. The idea is to keep this website online for as long as possible. The price is also hard to beat; the ad will be at a fraction of the cost of traditional marketing and advertising techniques.
There are now quite a few pixel ad webpage’s on the internet. Most of these are owned and operated by companies. DaughtersCollegeFund.com is owned and operated by me, dad trying to save for my little girl’s education.
