Take Stock in Children is Looking for Cyclists to Participate in its Annual Scholarship Bike Rides

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 19, 2006 -- January 19, 2006 - Take Stock in Children, Florida�s premiere mentoring and scholarship program, is looking for cyclists to participate in its annual Scholarship Bike Rides being held in Central Florida and Northeast Florida.

Cycling for Success � Central Florida on Saturday, March 18, 2006, will offer cyclists the option of riding a 25 mile, 50 mile or 100 mile route that will loop through beautiful and scenic back roads of Marion and Alachua Counties.

Cycling for Success � Northeast Florida on Saturday, April 22, 2006, will offer 50K and 100K routes through Clay County.

The registration fee for both rides is $30 before January 31, 2006 and $40 after February 1, 2006. Each rider is asked to help raise money to purchase college scholarships for underserved children living in his/her community. One hundred percent of the funds raised by each cyclist will help purchase scholarships for Take Stock in Children students living in the participant�s community.

Along the route, rest areas, SAG wagons and on bike guides will keep cyclists rolling. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will also be provided.

Founded in 1995 in response to the need for a scholarship program that provided more than just financial assistance to recipients, Take Stock in Children is an award-winning program that provides scholarships, mentors, and hope for a better future to Florida�s most deserving children. A public-private partnership, this school-based mentoring organization has positively affected the lives of more than 10,000 children. Scholarships are purchased through the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, which provides matching funds to double the impact of scholarship donations to Take Stock in Children. Take Stock in Children is the only statewide scholarship program in Florida to provide trained, dedicated mentors representing every segment of society who mentor their students weekly from middle school through high school graduation.
