Data released by comScore Networks finds total Internet spending, including travel, hit $143.2 billion in 2005. Affiliate Marketers still struggle to get a piece of the pie.

Mill Hall, PA - January 19, 2006 - "The Affiliate Marketer continues to struggle when trying to compete with the advertising budget of the Super Affiliate " says Mike Considine owner of Home Base Service Company and Affiliate Co-op Marketing.
Spending on online advertising, excluding search, increased 11.5 percent during the first nine months of 2005, according to a report released by TNS Marketing Intelligence. $6.1 billion was spent on Internet display ads over the first three quarters of 2005. This is up from $5.4 billion for the same period last year. Serious online marketers are looking closely at their advertising budgets.
Mike Considine says:"One of the biggest mistakes a new Affiliate makes is thinking that all they need to do is join a program place some free classified adds or spend a few bucks on Google AdWord and the money starts rolling in. The truth is you need a marketing plan which includes a serious advertising budget."
One way to stretch your budget might be to join a Co-op, but normal Co-ops only provide discount volume prices on things like leads with little or no help on how to turn them into customers.
