The award was for the SilverBlaze CAPRICORN e-business suite, an IBM WebSphere* & DB2*-based solution that allows companies to quickly deploy and securely manage online ordering and inquiries, web content management and other value-add customer services.

PowerStream uses CAPRICORN to deliver a number of customer self-service features, including online access to account history, billing information, and analysis of consumption statistics. Their site also publishes comprehensive information on energy conservation and other power related topics. Tight integration to core business applications has improved the availability of information to customers, alleviating demands on customer service personnel.
The solution resides on an IBM iSeries server running IBM WebSphere and DB2 middleware software, provided and hosted by Mid-Range Computer Group, an IBM Premier Business Partner that delivers high availability and Internet hosting services.
