January 26, 2006 (Press Release) --
General Practitioners in Chichester now have a new service to which they can refer patients with psychological difficulties, as well as their regular “heart sink” patients.
Following recommendations by The House of Lords Scientific and Technology Committee on the subject of complementary and alternative medicine, the NHSTA created the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners with a commitment to working with and treating NHS patients.
Based in Chichester, West Sussex, Andrew T. Austin is an EFT Practitioner, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Master Practitioner of NLP.
Andrew T. Austin is currently the only hypnotherapist in the Chichester area registered on the NHS Complementary Therapy Register who is also trained in Provocative Therapy with Frank Farrelly ACSW. Provocative Therapy is an empathic yet challenging approach that steers the difficult client towards the realisation that their own behaviours are often at the root of their difficulties. This approach is especially effective for clients with resistant problems, or those continually present themselves to GP’s in the manner of the typical “heart-sink” patient.
He has trained with Paul McKenna and Dr. Richard Bandler; is a member of the Society of NLP and is also listed on the General Hypnotherapy Register.
Andrew T. Austin has a clinical background as a registered nurse with extensive hospital experience in areas such as Neurosurgery and Accident and Emergency. As a private therapist, he specialises in clients with difficult psychological problems.
The founder and co-ordinator of The West Sussex Hypnosis and NLP Study Group, meeting each month at Chichester University, Andrew T. Austin first started teaching hypnosis and hypnotherapy in Southampton in 1995.
The 2006 West Sussex schedule includes a number of guest speakers including Marian Way (“Clean Language Patterns”), Emma James (“Mind Body Healing”), John Cassidy-Rice (“On Presenting”) and Dan Scorpio (“Urban Shamanism”).
GP’s in West Sussex can now refer patients to Andrew T. Austin.
Andrew is based in central Chichester, West Sussex, and can be contacted via telephone: 07838 387580, or email: nlp@23NLPeople.com. His extensive collection of writings on NLP, hypnosis and psychiatry can be located at: www.23NLPeople.com
