January 26, 2006 (Press Release) --
(Warwick, RI & Broomfield, CO, USA). Listing on Ebay for an opening bid of only $150,000, you can now buy 4 skilled workers for 3 years at what amounts to barely over U.S. minimum wage !
Fresh from their no-sale auction last week, Jojo Gator and his combined Rhode Island and Colorado family are determined to sell and get to a warmer climate. They've cut their price to make it happen.
"We slimmed this down because of the feedback we got from a lot of companies," Gator said in an interview with WHJJ Radio News Reporter Kevin Willette.
"Low paid and unskilled workers drive wages down in a lot of places," Gtr said.
" While we know we're worth a great deal more, businesses wanted a chance to gradually increase the bid. This allows the free market to find the price of skilled labor for us in a tropical climate. W e're trying it this way to see what happens."
Jojo Gator and his fiancé Jackie Kidney from Warwick and Jackie's brother Buddy Foster of Colorado, came up with the idea they tried earlier this month. Their main reason for this sale is that neither of them see things getting better any time soon.
Included in the offer this time are Jojo and his fiancé Jackie Kidney from Warwick , Rhode Island and Buddy Foster and Robby Brooker from Broomfield , Colorado .
"We're selling a service." Gator stressed. "It's a service provider agreement...So it's like we're a subcontractor that they'd be contracting for 'x' amount of dollars for 'x' amount of years."
When asked whether Susan Robkin Suruda, the musician from Seattle Washington and Countess Burford (Louse Robey) from the UK would again offer a free performance to assist them, Gator could only respond, "I'm hopeful for their support."
The auction ends Tuesday, Jan 31st at 4:51pm Pacific Time.
