January 31, 2006 (Press Release) -- Aspiring talent from around the country participated in Talent Rock HolidayFest 2005, a talent search event held December 9, 10 and 11 at the Gaylord Palms Resort. Founded by Entertainment Impresario and Entrepreneur Lou Pearlman, Talent Rock (www.talentrock.com) showcases actors, comedians, dancers, models and singers to the entertainment industry. At Talent Rock HolidayFest, there were more than 100 industry professionals from around the world looking to discover new talent and the participants were able to see and be seen by those industry professionals, plus learn more about the entertainment business at industry workshops. Participants were also able to network with celebrity guests such as former Saturday Night Live Star Ellen Cleghorne, Academy Award Winning Producer John Daly, Kool from the hit group Kool and the Gang, Brittany Brower from America’s Next Top Model, and Music Mogul Lou Pearlman. Concerts were given by Latin Sensation C Note, Rock Band Well Worn Zero, Hip Hop Duo Smilez & Southstar, and Pop Artist Sean van der Wilt, with a special performance by Jeff Timmons, founding member of 98 Degrees.

The participants competed in different categories for a share of more than $100,000 worth of prizes. More than 100 finalists were chosen by the industry professionals attending the event and then those finalists competed as an actor, comedian, dancer, model and/or vocalist for 21 awards.

Talent Rock wouldn’t be able to offer more than $100,000 worth of prizes without the help of its sponsors such as Marie Claire, Garnier Fructis, Wet n Wild cosmetics, Rocks Fine Jewelry, Ice Tek watches, Elini watches, Marsha Doll Models, Broadway Dance Center, Dance Magazine, Young Dancer Magazine, Overflow Productions, Remixed Dance Center, Shape Entertainment and Sophie’s Swimwear. In addition, The New York School for Film and Television awarded $30,000 in scholarships to 11 actors who auditioned for the school at the event.
