For_Immediate_Release:

February 2, 2006 (Press Release) -- Dallas, Texas- bluesky today announced it will be offering its free prescription card program to companies who provide products and services to the unbanked and underbanked market. This program is meant to be a value-added benefit for companies to offer their customers in order to encourage retention/loyalty and increase non-core revenues. The benefit is free to those companies that can distribute at least 5,000 cards and all companies are paid a commission based upon the usage generated by their groups.

“We have found a high incidence rate of those in the unbanked market in need of our prescription product. In fact, we have been seeing usage rates reaching 46% with clients focused on this market.” says Douglas Barkley Vice President of Operations for bluesky.

The product itself offers discounts ranging from 10-60% at over 48,000 pharmacies nationwide. The benefit is implemented by placing the necessary prescription artwork onto a card (new or existing) and distributing the free benefit to customers as a value-added program. Once the customer has the card, he or she can walk into a pharmacy and receive a discount of up to 60% by presenting the card to the pharmacist. It works much like a coupon.

This program has been created by the pharmaceutical industry to encourage consumers who would not normally fill a prescription at a pharmacy to do so. This is why there is compensation for those companies that can distribute the benefit to consumers in underserved market segments. The monthly payouts are based on the usage of the benefit, meaning that every time a customer receives a discount at the pharmacy the company is given a flat commission.

For those companies that choose to participate, this program offers a non-disruptive way to increase retention/loyalty and an opportunity to further monetize a customer base. All of bluesky’s programs are turnkey and all customer service and discount processing is handled by the administrator. The only cost a company absorbs is printing and distributing the cards.
