GO OFF THE WALL AT THE INTERNATIONAL VINTAGE POSTER FAIR SPONSORED BY WINE SPECTATOR

Posters are a unique form of cultural history and come from almost every corner of the world. The International Vintage Poster Fair features over 25 dealers from across the U.S. and Western Europe and for the first time, the Fair welcomes Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Center from China. Show goers will have the opportunity to purchase the perfect poster for their home, office or collection when they visit the Fair, the oldest and largest exposition and sale in the world devoted exclusively to original vintage posters. �Posters have gone up in value tremendously over the past few years. But, you can still find a poster to fit almost any budget,� states Fair Director Louis Bixenman.

Over 10,000 posters � some one-of-a-kind treasures � from the 1890s through the 1980s will be offered for sale. These European, American and Asian original vintage posters are among the finest examples of designers� artistry and represent many eras including Belle �poque, Art Nouveau, Moderne and the Fabulous Fifties.Posters of every genre including entertainment, movie, military, sports, travel, food, product advertising, and even Cultural Revolution Posters from China will be available. Artists represented include many other great masters of the late-nineteenth and twentieth centuries including Cassandre, Christy, Rockwell, Cappiello, and Steinlen.

The International Vintage Poster Fair sponsored by Wine Spectator is produced by Poster Fairs International LLC. Members of the International Vintage Poster Dealers Association vet all posters for authenticity.

The Evening Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago will host a benefit preview party at the Fair on Friday, March 31. In addition to getting a first glimpse at the posters available at this year�s event, a special lecture, wine and hors d� oeuvres and a raffle for an original vintage poster will make the party one to remember. Tickets for the preview are $30 for Evening Associate Members and $40 for the public.

Fair hours in Chicago are Friday, March 31 from 5pm to 9pm; Saturday, April 1 from 10am to 7 pm; Sunday, April 2 from 11am to 6pm. Admission Saturday OR Sunday is $12.
