February 8, 2006 (Press Release) --
The 12th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium.
The red carpets were an earnest motivation to don the colourful spring trend. Purple haze seemed to descend over it.
From a sartorial point of view, more than the Golden Globes the Screen Actors Guild Awards was another rather safe and tame affair and as such any dames cruising' for a bruising' in purplish frocks stood out like sore thumbs.
Three "Desperate Housewives" choose purple: Marcia Cross looked stunning in a statuesque lavender number, draped with a clever, architectural elegance, Felicity Huffman donned a strapless, pale purple mermaid dress with a fitted bodice, and Eva Longoria sprang for a lilac-trimmed beaded frock.
There’re also non-purple dressed stars as Rachel Weisz was the clear belle of the ball. Nicolette Sheridan went for striped yellow-and-green taffeta or Sandra Oh who was in striped black-and-white satin dress.
