Scenes from the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles:
Rachel Weisz, honored by her peers for her performance in ''The Constant Gardener,'' had an extra guest at the SAG Awards.

The actress, looking radiant in her second trimester of pregnancy, said the baby she is carrying hardly stirs during awards shows.
''I don't know if it's a boy or girl, but it goes completely still,'' Weisz said, her hand on her belly. ''There's no movement whatsoever. I think it's too much excitement.''

she was relieved the baby allowed her to fit into her custom-made blue Rochas gown, shipped to her straight from the Paris fashion house.

You've heard it before: It's an honor just to be nominated.

And when the nomination comes for the entire cast, it's even better, said the stars of ''Lost'' moments before they learned they had won the SAG Award for best ensemble performance in a drama series.
''We're nominated by actors, who are a very snooty, very discerning kind of race,'' said Dominic Monaghan, who plays Charlie on the series. ''Ultimately this show is an ensemble show. It's acted by a group of 16 or 17 very talented actors, and no one really stands above anyone else.''

His film ''Walk the Line'' is buzzing with Oscar talk, but director James Mangold insists he can't take all the credit for that.

Much of that credit, he added, must go to actors Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon for their dead-on portrayals of country music legends Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.
''You hear directors talk all the time about the landscapes and the geography and the lenses and the effects,'' Mangold said Sunday. ''But when you cut through all the crap, our lifeblood is a lens aiming at two eyes. Acting is what our business is all about. It's what moviemaking is all about.''
Mangold will learn early today whether the buzz was accurate when this year's Oscar nominees are announced.

Eddie Steeples' walk down the red carpet finally made up for missing the high school prom.

''This is a dream come true,'' said Steeples, who plays Darnell on the NBC show ''My Name is Earl,'' which was nominated for the comedy ensemble award. ''It's great to see so many people who I admire, people I've been following throughout the years. To be standing right next to them, that's awesome right there."
