REFUGEE CAMP RECIEVES TEXTBOOKS FROM THE MUCKER’S CLUB
LONDON, UK/WALTHAM, MASSACHUSETTS 24 SEPTEMBER 2005
The Mucker’s Club NGO has donated Applied Science textbooks for all the students in Buduburam Liberian Refugee Camp in Ghana.
The charity was approached in early 2005 by Dani Hartman of Maple Grove, MN, USA. She read about The Mucker's Club in the Osseo Maple Grove Press and asked for its help in Ghana. Dani went to Ghana between 15 and 24 September, 2005 with the Ten Days Mission (no religious affiliation).
During her time there she procured the applied science books for The Mucker's Club and brought them to the refugee camp. She also helped to create a database at the camp which helped people to identify and reunite with their relatives from outside and other refugee camps.
Charity president Colin Ganley said “we are happy to help the students and it was a pleasure working with the Dani Hartman. We hope that these materials will give each student more of an opportunity to fulfill his or her life potential.”
The Mucker's Club was founded in 2005 to bring education, educational products, and educational tools to underprivileged communities in the U.S. and around the world. Since its beginning it has established relationships with 6 libraries on 4 continents and has provided educational supplies to the San Juan Bautista Library in Paraguay. The Mucker’s Club is raising funds and rapidly expanding its reach; empowering communities, helping each to achieve sustainable development.
