A new online game called Poker Sharks founded by a 22 year-old from the United Kingdom is set to shock the foundations of the poker world by taking a slice of their billion-dollar poker industry.
Poker Sharks (www.PokerSharks.co.uk) is the brainchild of a 22-year-old called Gareth Stephens from the United Kingdom. Having played many online games and with his love of poker, the game Poker Sharks was born and launched on September 2005.
The graduate from Wrexham, North Wales saved up his first year’s earnings after University and invested in his online dream.
“My aim was to provide a high quality game for the average person who doesn’t have hours to spend online," said Stephens. "Hence the fact that Poker Sharks is a free game that takes just five minutes a day and is perfect for those with a hectic timetable."
The game is based around Texas Hold'em Poker and involves players to train and look after their very own Poker Shark. Each day players can research a new type of food for him to learn how to cook. There are other mini card games within the game all contributing to the overall Value of the Poker Shark, which determines where in the world rankings you are placed.
Poker Sharks is unique in the way it fills the gap between online gaming and online gambling. Players can play Poker Sharks and learn the game of poker without the fear of losing money.
