February 19, 2006 (Press Release) --
MADISON, Wisc. - February 20, 2006 -
Broadjam.com, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing websites featuring unsigned music, today announced it has partnered with Konami, a leading video game company revered by gamers around the globe, to find the next hit songs for their hugely popular game Dance Dance Revolution®.
Unsigned artists will be competing to provide custom and original music for inclusion into the next Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) video game. Using Broadjam.com’s song contest mechanism, artists will be able to upload their original music tracks onto the site and then be evaluated and considered for the next DDR songlist. A peer review process ranks the field for presentation to Konami’s staff.
“We’re excited to have access to such a large audience of creative songwriters and fans at Broadjam.com,” said Stillwind Borenstein, Music Director for the DDR Ultramix series at Konami Corporation. “Broadjam is a premier independent music website and they provide us with an easy-to-use environment for evaluating new music and discovering talent that complements our games.”
And music fans love Broadjam too: The easy-to-use song search capability is strong, with dozens of fields such as tempo, genre, mood, lyrics, subject matter, and geography making it a snap to find just the right thing from among 200,000 original songs. Broadjam visitors can also browse over 175 Top 10 charts to audition the highest rated songs.
“DDR’s integration of music has set a new standard for arcade and home video games,” said Roy Elkins, founder and CEO of Broadjam.com. “Broadjam is delighted to partner with an innovator like Konami.”
