Distributed Software Development Solutions Receive Recognition for Providing Best-in-Class Development Capabilities across the Entire Application Lifecycle

BRISBANE, Calif. - CollabNet announced that its on-demand distributed software development solution, CollabNet Enterprise Edition 4.0, and the Subversion open source project the company sponsors, together have been selected as finalists in a combined six award categories between Software Development magazine, the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), and developer.com.
Software Development's 16th Annual Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards announced CollabNet Enterprise Edition 4.0 as a finalist in two categories: Quality and Project Management; and Defect Tracking, Change and Configuration Management Tools. Additionally, Producing Open Source Software: How to Run a Successful Free Software Project, published by O'Reilly and Associates and written by Karl Fogel has been selected as a finalist in the General Books category. Fogel is an engineer at CollabNet and key contributor to the Subversion open source project which won the Jolt Product Excellence Award for Change and Configuration Management in last year's 2005 Jolt Awards.
In addition, CollabNet Enterprise Edition 4.0 has been named a finalist in two categories in the 21st Annual SIIA 2006 CODiE Awards. CollabNet Enterprise Edition is nominated for Best Software Development Solution and Best Software-as-a-Service Solution. The SIIA also recognized Subversion as a finalist for Best Open Source Solution.
CollabNet also had dominating presence in the 2006 developer.com Product of the Year Awards in the Open Source Tool of the Year category. Subversion was named one of five finalists and two other finalists, Open Office 2.0 and Firefox, are also closely tied to the company: the CollabNet development environment has provided the collaborative infrastructure to the OpenOffice.org project since its inception in 2000, and CollabNet founder and CTO Brian Behlendorf is on the board of the Mozilla Foundation, the producer and provider of Firefox.

Winners among the 89 finalists in 14 categories will be announced March 15 at SD West 2006 in Santa Clara, Calif. The SIIA 2006 CODiE Award finalists were chosen from more than 1,000 nominations through a combination of journalistic and peer reviews. The award winners will be announced at a gala event May 16 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.
