Mr. John A. Christly, an IT security professional, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the South Florida chapter of InfraGard as the new Director of Membership

Mr. John A. Christly, an IT security professional, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the South Florida chapter of InfraGard as the new Director of Membership. InfraGard is a national information sharing program between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the private sector. As part of his responsibilities, he will help to grow the membership and will help manage the membership base. Mr. Christly was already serving the South Florida InfraGard chapter as the Sector Chief for the Public Health sector, and this added responsibility will only serve to increase his visibility and interaction with other South Florida Healthcare, Law Enforcement, and Security-minded personnel.
Formerly with the US Army National Guard, Mr. Christly has been in the Information Systems field for more than 16 years, and is currently serving as the Manager of Information Technology Security & HIPAA Security Officer for a large healthcare system in Broward County, Florida. Prior to this position he has served as Director of Network Technology, Marketing, and Managed Security for a Miami based ISP. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems and an MBA. He is a Florida Licensed Private Investigator Intern and runs the Computer Security division of a South Florida Private Investigation firm. He has been certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. He has both a Master Certificate in Applied Project Management and a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Villanova University. His technical certifications include the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Professional, Certified HIPAA Administrator, Certified HIPAA Professional, Certified HIPAA Security Specialist, WatchGuard Sales Professional (WSP), WatchGuard Certified System Professional - Firebox X Class (WCSP), WatchGuard Certified System Professional - Firebox V Class (WCSPV), and WatchGuard Sales Professional – Firebox V Class (WSPV). He has certifications from FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute on IS-700 “National Incident Management System (NIMS) an Introduction”, and IS-317 “Introduction to Community Emergency Response Team” and has received formal training in Cyber Terrorism from the National Intelligence Academy. He is currently preparing to take the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) exam from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
