Citrine is a kind yellow stone resembling topaz, formed by heating a black quartz in order to change its color.

Citrine is a beautiful yellow stone which has enhanced jewelry pieces since the mid 1700's. Citrine is a popular, but less expensive, alternative to the topaz as a November birthstone.
