Last week (15 February 2006) saw directline holidays introduce another new dimension to its online holiday bookings website. Additional functionality (developed by MSO.net) has been extended to the holiday pricing module. Potential holidaymakers can now use the directline holidays website to gain a comprehensive view of the entire holiday package. Depending upon the information available, directline holidays will deliver a complete breakdown of every holiday’s cost.
The advantage of this added functionality means that customers of directline holidays are not disappointed by hidden costs, resulting in higher than anticipated holiday deals. For each member of the party (adults, children or infants) a full price listing is displayed showing exactly how the price of the holiday is made up i.e. compulsory fuel supplements, discounts and the charges for optional extras such as late checkout, in-flight meals, transfers etc. That information can then be printed, emailed or the user can be redirected back to the search page.
Once the preferred holiday destination has been selected, a directline holidays’ operator can book the directline holiday at the online price (by accessing the unique reference allocated to that search). (Note that this is providing there has not been a significant time delay between viewing and calling directline holidays).
