New “Wonder Woman” may not be a Wonder anymore.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 27, 2006 --
Rumors are swirling through out Hollywood that Spanish actress/model Ines Sastre is the leading candidate for the much sought after role as Wonder Woman. Producer Leanard Goldberg and Director Joss Whedon have also stated they are looking at several different candidates including Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Lopez. Sastre how ever brings a much needed new energy to a role many Wonder Woman fans are looking for.
Profile: Ines Sastre
Birth Date: November 21, 1973
Birth Place: Valladolid, Castilla y León, Spain
Ines Sastre was born on November 21, 1973, in Valladolid, Spain. Her film career all started when a 12-year-old Ines went to audition for a fast-food commercial with a friend, and she was cast in the commercial. It was hard not to notice the hazel-eyed brunette, and director Carlos Saura sure took notice. He knew she'd be perfect for the role of Elvira in the 1987 film, El Dorado.
Just as her career as an actress was beginning to take off, Ines won Elite's "Look of the Year" contest, but, Ines chose to continue with academics and put her modeling career aside.
Her refusal to sign the modeling contract with Elite and instead receive her university degree from La Sorbonne is a condemnable act, however, she did not have much to worry about, as she had a string of opportunities lined up for her after graduation.
In the meantime, the Spanish beauty did appear in several movies. She landed the role of Giovanna in 1988's Johanna D'Arc of Mongolia and played Beatrice in 1990's Fuga dal Paradiso (Escape from Paradise).
Once she received her university diploma, Ines went back to work full-time as an actress and model. In the world of acting, she appeared in such films as Al di la delle nuvole (Beyond the Clouds) and the American romantic comedy Sabrina, starring Harrison Ford. Ines also starred as herself in a documentary about the film Beyond the Clouds.
Proving that she had talent as an actress, Ines also proved that she could make it as a model when she began working with Dior Models and several other European agencies. Her work in commercials for names like Rodier and Max Factor, and ads for American Legend, Ann Taylor, Bally, J. Crew, and J.P. Tod's, paled in comparison to the heavy duty contract she received in 1996. Ines signed a 3-year contract with Lancôme, becoming the next face for its fragrance "Trésor," a title model/actress Isabella Rossellini had previously held. Signed with Next in New York City and in Paris, Ines has also strutted her stuff down the runways for designers such as: Hervé Leger, Jean Paul Gaulthier, Mulberry, Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs, and Fendi.
She has also graced the cover of Elle (France, Spain, Argentina, Australia, and Sweden editions), Glamour, and Vogue (Spain, Australia and Holland editions), just to name a few.
Additional accolades for her beauty are the Natural Beauty trophy, which Ines received at the 1997 Fashion Awards in Paris, and her appearance in the 1997 Pirelli calendar, which is truly a great honor in the fashion industry.
Warner Brothers, Mr. Goldberg and Mr. Whedon have declined to comment on Ms. Sastre. Our sources confirm there may be an announcement in a few weeks.
