March 6, 2006 (Press Release) --
Munich, January 4, 2006 – The European Computer Telecoms Group (ECT), Europe’s market leader for intelligent value-added services, has once again been named as one of the fastest-growing technology companies. The ECT board sees this award – presented by Deloitte & Touche – as a clear indication that the ECT Group’s innovative value-added services are making substantial impact on the highly contested telecoms market. Another indicator for continuous growth is the ECT Group’s workforce, which has increased from 29 in 2000 to 125 in 2006.
The award was presented to ECT following a recent study by the global auditing firm Deloitte & Touche. For the past five years, Deloitte has researched the most successful German companies according to their cumulative revenue growth, and then listed these in the Technology Fast 50 ranking.
“We are pleased to receive this award for the second year in a row. This confirms our hard work and our ambitious goals. Today, we are supplying innovative telecoms solutions for well-known carriers across Europe, such as Belgacom, BT, Deutsche Telekom, Tele2, TeliaSonera, Turkcell, and Vodafone.”

Background information on Technology Fast 50:
The very first Technology Fast 50 was organised in the United States in 1995. Since then, the programme has been continually expanded in response to public interest and the substantial number of participating companies. It is currently held in 11 countries around the world. In addition to national Technology Fast 50 lists, regional Technology Fast 500 programmes have been staged since 1997. The regional Technology Fast 500 has aims to award prizes to the 500 fastest-growing companies in a specific geographical region (North America, Europe, and Asia/Pacific). In the United States and other countries, Technology Fast 50 or Fast 500 awards speak for the quality of the company and have also become a recognised competitive factor influencing corporate success. As a result of including the German Technology Fast 50 in the European Technology Fast 500, German award winners now have the opportunity to step up onto the winner’s podium as one of the most successful technology companies in Europe.
The Technology Fast 50 listing considers all technology companies producing in the segments communications, network operation, Internet, semiconductor/systems, computer/peripherals, life sciences, and software. In order to participate, they also had to generate sales revenues of 50,000 EUR in 2000 and at least 1,000,000 EUR in 2004, while also having been in business for at least five years, and based in Germany.
