March 19, 2006 (Press Release) --
The Eerie Horror Film Festival (EHFF) was originally conceived as an offshoot of the annual Great Lakes Independent Film Festival and has since grown into its own separate and wildly successful event.
This year's event will be held October 4-8, in Erie, Pennsylvania at the Roadhouse Theater and will feature special celebrity guests, visiting filmmakers, and thousands of attendees.
40 films were shown at the 2005 festival and more awards than previous years were presented to filmmakers for their hard work. The quality of the submissions increased as well and the festival generated nation-wide attention with several articles on high profile websites including the Horror-Channel, perhaps the most popular on-line site for fans of the genre.
"The feedback from the last EHFF has been tremendous and we are already looking forward to our 2006 season with much anticipation", says president Greg Ropp.
Now operating as a completely separate entity (since securing the rights for the EHFF from the Great Lakes Film Association in October of 2005) and wishing to expand beyond the one annual event, the EHFF is hoping to have a record breaking year.
"As JV Media assists a lot of independent film companies with design, when we heard about the Eerie (Horror) Film Festival we naturally wanted to get involved in some way", said Creative Director, Sherry Holub. "We wanted to give the independent filmmaker something on a par with the big studio releases in terms of a web presence, and this is where an interactive Flash website can really help out."
The grand prize winner in the festival will receive a 6 page Flash interactive website for their feature film, courtesy of JV Media Design.
