http://www.10kilobytes.com (Trondheim, Norway March 20, 2006) Erik Mandt, a student who is currently studying to become an electric engineer in Norway, has recently launched a website where he aims to sell away ad-space byte-wise. Mandt said that he found the pixel-ad concept very fascinating, but soon realized that improvements could be made. After studying several sites, he noticed that most pixel-ads only contain text. Therefore, he came up with the idea to combine the speed and simplicity of text ads with the intense information amount on pixel-sites; thus the byte-ad concept was born. Mandt claims his website is faster to load and much more bandwidth friendly than graphical advertisement sites are. Also, he points out that ads go live instantly after they have been paid for, so there is no need to wait days for approval. Bytes are sold for 1$ each, and the young student hopes that businesses as well as individuals sees the potential in this form of advertisement.
