March 23, 2006 (Press Release) --
The Palm Beach International Film Festival has selected Kevro's first poetic art film, a ten minute short titled 'If Only I Were A Tree,' for their 11th annual fest April 20-28,2006. For forthcoming screening schedule information please visit their website pbifilmfest.org
'If Only I Were A Tree,' is a statement of common denominators, using art & nature to express the human condition - suffering. Instead of trying to get away from or hide from disturbing events, we chose to show the beauty & celebrate new beginnings in family. Kevin Rouse (Kevro) is the director, producer and editor of the film, as well as the artist/photographer of the work that has a starring role. Kevin's fiance and business partner, Deb Sullivan, wrote the film. Kevin's brother, Todd Rouse, performs his original score.
The film features stunning trees - living sculpture spanning the landscape of NJ, CA, and
Delray Beach Fl.
Artists living and working together in Delray Beach, Deb & Kevin's gallery, KEVRO Art & Photography, is celebrating five years artist-owned in downtown Delray Beach.
The film is very personal, intimate and moving. The Lake Ida trees, found in the Lake Ida Playhouse Park of Delray Beach, inspired the film 'If Only I Were A Tree.'
