FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (March 25, 2006)
“Bunny Wrap by Protect-a-Bub receives ‘5UP Review’ From Family Review Center”
SEATTLE, WA – March 25, 2006 Family Review Center announced that Protect-a-Bub has received a ‘5UP Review’, for their product ‘The Bunny Wrap’. This is the highest ranking a reviewed product can receive at Family Review Center. The 5Up ranking follows stringent guidelines that must be met. The Bunny Wrap received this ranking because it is convenient, safe, and offers the added bonus of being made of cheesecloth, with its inherent benefits, that we have not found in any other “swaddle” blanket.
The Associate Director of Family Review Center, Janet Hanes, formerly of Children’s Hospital in Seattle Washington. Here she worked for the SIDS Foundation. Because of this role, she takes very seriously products which may reduce the chances of SIDS in infants, and weighs the pros and cons of all products on the market, related to infant and child safety.
Janet had to say of the Bunny Wrap “I find this product to offer a couple of terrific features which one should consider; the first being the breathable cheesecloth fabric. So many times SIDS has been found to be related to infant suffocation. By reducing the chances of this happening, parents may be assured they have taken seriously the cautions directed to them, and have reduced greatly the chances of their infant falling prey to the likes of SIDS. We have ran into a few infant blankets that are so heavy, thick and cumbersome, should an infant wiggle free of them, they would have great risk of danger from suffocation. These blankets usually come undone easily because of the thickness of the material, and rather than a breathable fabric, they offer air restrictive fabric. This is not only dangerous, but is also uncomfortable and can cause overheating. The second feature I find to be so great with the Bunny Wrap is the fact that it makes a great swaddling blanket. The size is conducive to swaddling, which makes for the feeling of success for the parent, and the benefits of swaddling for the infant. This reduces the startle reflex common in small infants, and also assures the parent that baby will stay on his or her back for the entire sleep cycle and not stir themselves to their stomachs, when tossing about. The Bunny Wrap allows the infant to move easier than most swaddlers, yet keeps them in the swaddling position, with arms close to their side, for the best sleeping position possible.”
The Bunny Wrap is also multi purpose and functional, offering a great alternative for nursing mothers. Simply drape this blanket over mother and the nursing infant, and you will have coverage and privacy, while giving baby the benefit of the breathable fabric that will reduce sweating and overheating.
