Button-sized, Sealed Temperature Logger - Stores 2048 Readings.

March 31, 2006 (Press Release) -- Pittsford, NY: SmartButton™ is a miniature temperature logger that is extremely low-cost, easy to use, and is similar in size to a button! Because of its small size and low-cost, you can purchase tens or hundreds of them for multiple-site temperature monitoring.
Designed for measuring temperatures during transit, the 4-gram steel-cased SmartButton™ is only 17 mm in diameter x 6 mm thick. Powered by an internal 3.0 volt Lithium battery with a typical life of 10 years, SmartButton™ has a resolution of 8 bits and an accuracy of +/- 1 degC over most of its range.
With a clock accuracy of +/- 2 minutes per month from 0 to 45°C (32 to 113°F) measurements can stop when full or re-circulate. A PC with at least one free serial port is fine for SmartButton Reader™ set-up, reading and display software (provided free). A USB port can be used with an optional adapter. SmartButton™ has a memory of 2048 readings, and an operating range of -40degC to +85degC.

Intended applications include food manufacturing, pharmaceutical and product storage, transportation of temperature-sensitive goods, laboratory experiments, HVAC and industrial equipment logging, etc.
