April 2, 2006 (Press Release) --
Toronto based Veni Vici Entertainment seeks to make the advertising for its upcoming film, “The Horror of Surpanaka,” as original and different as the film itself (which combines the horror genre with elements of a musical, featuring the new show band, “The Hellions of Hades”)
In wanting to distance this project from the “sameness” of movie advertising, producer, Andy Halmay, an ex-Madison Avenue creative director, is launching an online advertising art contest which is open to students of advertising art schools throughout the world.
The entries, e-mailed to a large panel of judges consisting of advertising and promotion executives at film distribution companies on three continents, will expose the distributors to a variety of new talents and styles while providing the entrants an international platform through which they might be “discovered.”
While the top three prizes are modest, the winning entrants may also be hired to do the final art for the advertising on “The Horror of Surpanaka” as well as for the album cover on “The Hellions of Hades” CD.
The closing date for entries is May 15th, 2006. Advertising art school academics or administrators or students can get details and entry forms at ddvenivici@bellnet.ca
