4/04/06 - Many real estate agents have taken up the practice of giving a gift after the closing of a sale as a way of showing their appreciation toward the client. While many homes in the U.S. already have smoke detectors, very few homes also have a carbon monoxide detector. According to the CDC, 500 Americans die from unintentional carbon monoxide poisoning each year.
"While doing a walkthrough with clients, it's always a good idea to note if the home has smoke or carbon monoxide detectors," the spokesperson continued. "If it doesn't, then it's something that the client should be made aware of."
