(Free-Press-Release.com) April 5, 2006 -- April 5, 2006 -- Confirming her status as the conservative choice for California State Assembly in the 65th District, Brenda Salas has been endorsed by Senator Tom McClintock, an icon among conservatives across the state. The endorsement came while both were attending the annual California Republican Assembly convention in Bakersfield, Ca.

“Brenda Salas has stood with me in the fight for limited government and I am proud to endorse her for State Assembly.” McClintock stated.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the most respected Republican in the state,” commented Salas. “Senator McClintock’s endorsement is one of the most coveted in the state because it clearly demonstrates which candidate will be the true champion of the taxpayer.”

McClintock, who is the presumptive GOP nominee for Lieutenant Governor, has consistently polled as the most popular and well-respected Republican in the State. McClintock joins a long and growing list of conservative Republican leaders who see Salas as the future of the Republican Party.

The McClintock endorsement, along with a recent surge in fundraising that has pushed Salas campaign coffers over the quarter million dollar mark, has, in the eyes of many, turned the tide of this race in Salas’ favor. The endorsement also comes at a time when the Salas campaign looks to be building momentum in the district.

Brenda Salas has experience working on the federal, county, and city levels of government. Currently, Salas is serving her sixth year on the Banning City Council, where she has served as Mayor Pro Tem, Vice-Chair to the Redevelopment Agency and member of the Riverside Transit Agency’s budget and finance committee.

Salas has been employed as a Legislative Aide to Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley for the past four years, during which time she has helped stop illegal dumping in Riverside County, worked to encourage business growth and job creation throughout the region and pushed for increased levels of law enforcement to ensure the safety of our growing communities.
