It's A Woman's World
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA – April 10, 2006 - The Source on Lake is proud to host an exhibition of art work by
Ann Isolde, J. Natasha Kostan and Launa D. Romoff, “Three Women Artists”, opening Saturday, April 22nd at 6pm. Each of these women, Ann Isolde, J. Natasha Kostan and Launa D. Romoff, Draw upon Memories, life experiences and emotions to create work that touches the viewer with the same passions that the artist experience
Much of Ann Isolde's work reflects her growing up with a twin sister, and the sense of incompleteness she experienced, as they left home and went their separate ways. This theme is beautifully reflected in her work.
“It is my desire to slow people down with my paintings, to encourage them to get in touch with their dreams
and fantasies, and to reinforce the deep connection all of us have to the natural world.”
J. Natasha Kostan's eclectic style is a manifestation of her multi-hued vision of the world. Her work expresses her multi-cultural experiences.
“ I try to enable the viewer to enter these timeless places that were once inhabited, and now exist only in
my mind.”
Launa D. Romoff has been working with collage/mixed media since 1997, Ms. Romoff finds her material everywhere. She states that by working in this medium, she believes you learn to “see” the beauty of the discarded and turn it into “Art”. In 2004 Ms. Romoff was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, It was her art that helped her through the pain and fatigue associated with her recovery.
“ How I use the material at hand is often more important than the material itself”.-Kurt Schwitters
Three Women Artists runs through June 24, 2006. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm,Saturday
