Texas Holdem online has been around for over 10 years but as of the past 3 its gone nuts. Thanks to Chris Moneymaker winning the WSOP poker has gone to a new level and especially online. Mac users who focus their attention to playing online poker will face some obstacles.
Macs do not support Windows programs such as online poker rooms. In the endless search to save money online poker rooms built their software for Windows users because they take up the largest percentage of users. Yippee for Mac users you say. Yes, it pretty much leaves Mac users in the tear of trails while searching for a poker site that is compatible.
Within the last year or so many online poker rooms have seen the light and are now coming out of the wood works to cater Mac users. There are probably over 20 poker rooms out there that now support Macs. Compatiblepoker.com lists them all but there is still a shortage of downloadable sites. Java seems to be the majority of software programs out there for Macs. Java isn’t a bad resource but it’s like putting a band aid on a broken leg. Get to the root of the cause, fix it, and all will be happy. Download versions do this to some extent. If you can download a poker room on a Mac you get a lot more abilities to change preferences and play like a normal user without a disadvantage that Java can sometimes create.
We Mac users give praise to the poker sites out there that are no longer looking down at Mac users but are now putting us up on the pedal stool. The next site Mac users await is Party Poker. Mac users dream of the day where they can play at Party Poker without using Virtual PC. For a place that is so popular you think they’d open to Macs. Online poker for Macs is making advances slowly but surely but Macs are still waiting for some of the major players to step to the plate.
