April 18, 2006 (Press Release) --
New York, NY April 17, 2006 -- Latin music reggaeton music star, Daddy Yankee, has not listed the Puerto Rican Day Parade 2006 as one of his tour stops during the month of June. The artist online tour calendar only lists dates for his upcoming Central American tour which includes Costa Rica, Peru, Chile and Panama.
Calls to DY's manager and brother were unanswered. "It is very surprising that Daddy Yankee would schedule most of his Central (and South) American tour dates during the same week when most of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade activities in New York City take place", said Mark Lugo of Musika Ltd in Costa Rica and Miami. "He (Daddy Yankee) really should consider being in New York for the Puerto Rican Day Parade and rescheduling his tour dates", Lugo added.
Raymond Ayala (Daddy Yankee) was raised in Villa Kennedy, a public housing project in the capital of San Juan, Puerto Rico. At a very young age Raymond wanted to be a baseball player and everyone agreed that he was well on his way to the major leagues. However, one summer night the 17-year-old was involved in an accident that permanently damaged his leg. Ever since that event over a decade ago Daddy Yankee has dedicated his life to his true passion, creating music.
