April 24, 2006 (Press Release) --
Serengeti Law today announced new pricing for its widely-used legal matter management and electronic billing system for corporate law departments. The new pricing includes volume and other discounts for both new customers and current customers who renew their contracts. These changes are the result of efficiencies as the number of users has grown to more than 35,000 in 125 countries. Recent law department surveys have recognized this growth and ranked Serengeti the most widely used and highest rated matter management and e-billing system among U.S. law departments.
“With a critical mass of nearly 10,000 firms, Serengeti can offer the best value and easiest setup on the market,” said Don Murray, President of Serengeti Law. “As a result, we’re seeing rapid growth among large law departments as well as greater affordability for the smaller departments.”
Serengeti now provides all customers specific discounts for: higher volumes of legal work; projects that involve infrequent activity; billing/budgeting only matters; and internal matters (not involving outside counsel). As a result, most law departments on Serengeti are seeing a decrease in their overall system costs.
The new discounts apply to Serengeti’s all-inclusive monthly service fee, which covers all hardware, software, maintenance, support, and upgrades, as well as additional users and firms. Serengeti continues its practice of offering the system at no charge to all of the thousands of law firms who use Tracker.
“For the past three years, Serengeti Tracker has connected our law department offices and all of our law firms into a single online management system,” said Christie Cannon, Associate General Counsel for Pepco Holdings, Inc. “With Serengeti, we are able to manage our work more efficiently, and have better control over our legal spending. Although the volume of our legal work has increased, our system cost went down this year due to their new pricing. We appreciate the great service and value provided by Serengeti.”
The minimum Serengeti system cost, which applies to most small law departments, is $2,000 per month. With savings generally exceeding 5% of outside counsel spending, small law departments who are spending $1 million a year on outside counsel generate annual savings that are more than double their cost. Larger law departments have even higher rates of return on investment due to the significant volume and other discounts.
