Press Release
Statistics show that 50% of children’s injuries and deaths in motor vehicle accidents could have been prevented with a properly installed “Child Safety Car Seat.”
On April 29, 2006 The Massachusetts Minority State Police Officers’ Association (MMSPOA) and the Massachusetts State Police, Boston Police, Massachusetts Association of Minority Law Enforcement Officers inc (MAMLEO) and Roxbury Community College will be conducting a “Child Car Seat Installation and Safety Education Day” along with various community organizations at Roxbury Community College, 1234 Columbus Avenue in Roxbury, MA campus parking lot, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We invite the public, and ask private and public organizations to inform their clientele of this most important and informative event.
During the event we are going to be checking and installing Child Safety Car Seats in accordance with the National Highway Safety Administration’s Standards. Our goal is to identify, remove, and replace defective, re-called, unsafe, and expired (over six years of the date of manufactured) child safety car seats. Child safety car seats that are deemed unsafe will be replaced at no charge (while supplies last) for the safety of the child. We are asking for your support/sponsorship for this event.
The MMSPOA welcomes donations (car seats, safety materials, financial support, etc.) to make this event successful. If this is something that you and your organization consider being worthy of your support, please call Board Member Joseph Nardella 617-719-1449, Fax 617-354-4828 and/or forward your favorable response to:
